Distributed Local Strategies in Broadcast Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
We study the problems of reaching a specific control state, or converging to a set of target states, in networks with a parameterized number of identical processes communicating via broadcast. To reflect the distributed aspect of such networks, we restrict our attention to executions in which all the processes must follow the same local strategy that, given their past performed actions and received messages, provides the next action to be performed. We show that the reachability and target problems under such local strategies are NP-complete, assuming that the set of receivers is chosen non-deterministically at each step. On the other hand, these problems become undecidable when the communication topology is a clique. However, decidability can be regained for reachability under the additional assumption that all processes are bound to receive the broadcast messages. 1998 ACM Subject Classification F.3 Logics and Meanings of Programs, F.1.1 Models of Computation

Broadcast Routing in Wireless Ad-Hoc Networks: A Particle Swarm optimization Approach
While routing in multi-hop packet radio networks (static Ad-hoc wireless networks), it is crucial to minimize power consumption since nodes are powered by batteries of limited capacity and it is expensive to recharge the device. This paper studies the problem of broadcast routing in radio networks. Given a network with an identified source node, any broadcast routing is considered as a directed...
متن کاملDALD:-Distributed-Asynchronous-Local-Decontamination Algorithm in Arbitrary Graphs
Network environments always can be invaded by intruder agents. In networks where nodes are performing some computations, intruder agents might contaminate some nodes. Therefore, problem of decontaminating a network infected by intruder agents is one of the major problems in these networks. In this paper, we present a distributed asynchronous local algorithm for decontaminating a network. In mos...
متن کاملOptimum Local Decision Rules in a Distributed Detection System with Dependent Observations
The theory of distributed detection is receiving a lot of attention. A common assumption used in previous studies is the conditional independence of the observations. In this paper, the optimization of local decision rules for distributed detection networks with correlated observations is considered. We focus on presenting the detection theory for parallel distributed detection networks with fi...

متن کاملReliable Local Broadcast in a Wireless Network Prone to Byzantine Failures
Reliable broadcast can be a very useful primitive for many distributed applications, especially in the context of sensoractuator networks. Recently, the issue of reliable broadcast has been addressed in the context of the radio network model that is characterized by a shared channel, and where a transmission is heard by all nodes within the sender’s neighborhood. This basic defining feature of ...
